Leland Faulker is a visionary artist and arts educator who blends profound storytelling with intricate craftsmanship captivating audiences worldwide. Worlds of Wonder is a feast for the heart and the mind where light and shadow become players in a magical universe. Dreamcatcher features traditional Native stories that speak to all of us through the wisdom of indigenous America. Walker Between Worlds is a simplified version of Dreamcatcher for libraries and schools. Visions of Peace is a collection of stories from around the world that luminate man’s shared dream for a better world.
Leland Faulkner is a Native American master storyteller who has travelled the path of theater for more than thirty years. His mother was from the Bad River Band of Chippewa Indians in Odenah, Wisconsin and his father was a Shoshone Bannock from Fort Hall, Idaho. His parents were part of the Foreign Service providing Leland with an international perspective after living in Afghanistan, Iran, and Africa. As an artist, he has performed throughout the U.S. and to Canada, Russia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Spain and Turkey.
Leland holds a degree in Motion Picture Studies from the Brooks Institute, has trained with renowned mime artist Tony Montanaro and later worked and taught with mask master Bari Rolfe. His professional background is varied: master storyteller, touring artist, artistic director, performance coach, and film and theater director. He directed the award-winning fiction film, The King O’ Cats, the documentary film, Theater & Inspiration, and several programs for broadcast television.
